  5. So happy for you, Matisse. Your life mirrors my sons life as he also waited for his intestinal transplants. He was your age and he also developed for a love of cooking like you. His dinners that he cooked for us were always so special especially his heart shaped hamburgers that he made for our anniversary. We also traveled this country like your parents looking for the best care for him. He received his care at Pittsburgh Children's hospital like you but finally received his multi-organ transplants in Miami's Jackson Memorial hospital. 13 yrs later after his transplants he is getting ready to graduate from the university with his Master's Degree and plans to move on towards his Ph.D. Matisse you are inspiration to all of us. I hope that one day we will all see you on your own cooking show.

  6. Hi, Matisse!
I read aboutyou in Parade in the Sunday Denver Post on December 11th. That is so exciting for you! I really enjoy to cook, also, but I usually follow a recipe. How do you cook without following a recipe? Just your gut instinct? Have you made any bad decisions about what to add to a recipe, and it turned out kinda gross? :) It is so inspiring to see a girl like you rise above her illness--keep it up, and stay strong!

  7. That's so cool! I was totally inspired by the article that was on parade. I was so inspired that I hope that I can be a foodie just like Matisse. And Great video! I wonder what reciepe that Matisse was making.

  8. Matisse...

Your article in Parade magazine (I'm from Toledo, Ohio) brought tears to my eyes :) You are an inspiration to us all! I love cooking as well and I am obsessed with the Foodnetwork. I was reading some of your blog posts and I actually learned something I didn't know...I had no idea about the bad egg "trick" of putting it in a bowl of water! I will use that one in the future!! Keep honing those cooking skills girl-hope to see you on TV in the future-you've got a great story!
