Fish and Chips

Fish and chips - NZ style

On   Wednesday  my  mom  and I went  to  the   strip district.  We   got   squid   and    whole    fish.  The man serving us thought it was unusual to get squid tentacles and he did not really know much about the fish he gave us either.
I   learned   how   to   bone   and    filet   a    fish (I will have video up soon).  It   is   really   hard.
Dad and I made  fish   and  chips with  pouched   eggs  and   calamari.  I made beer batter out of the edmonds cook book.

I   think   I  am   going   to  have  a  go   at   making   clam chowder.

  9. Matisse, my 9 year old daughter and I have been following your posts since you decorated a cake so beautifully! I think you are an amazing girl and want you to continue this blog so I can become a better cook in the kitchen (I'm 38 years old!) lol! When I read this day's blog, I thought about my life as a little girl on the Northeastern shore buying Chesapeake Bay crabs by the bushel (4 pecks to you?) and eating pounds of steamed shrimp all by myself. Sydney and I wish you well!
